• It’s Spring and that means it’s the start of Nesting Season. Here are a few helpful hints on observing which birds may have a nest near you:

• Listen.  This time of year the males will sing in the same area. They do this to defend their territory & to let the females know they are there. Have you ever seen or heard a male Red-winged Blackbird this time of year?

​

• Observe.  If you see pairs together, searching for food, looking for nesting material, or following each others every move, there is a very good chance they have or are in the process of making a nest.
   

• Birds will build nests in about any spot you can imagine. By just listening and observing you may be surprised what’s right next to you!
